The Blockchain Research and Applications Session is endorsed by the Computational Finance and Economics Technical Committee of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, within its track of sessions and conferences on Computational Intelligence for Financial Engineering and Economics (CIFEr).

The Blockchain Session is accepted as a Cross-Disciplinary and CI Applications Sessions, accross the three Conferences of the 2018 WCCI Congress - the International Joint Conference on Neural Networks, the IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation, and the IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems.

EtherSat, Inc. is developing the EtherSat Protocol, an open source networking standard for ground to space communications. The goal is more efficient communication with spacecraft, and reduced barriers to entry into the aerospace industry.

By deploying a blockchain-enabled satellite communications network, EtherSat improves utilization of existing ground station equipment and incentivizes the deployment of new ground stations. The result is a public network with high throughput and low-latency connectivity that reduces the overall infrastructure costs of launching satellites.
